Washing:
- Machine Wash: Use a gentle cycle with cold water (30°C/86°F).
- Hand Wash: For best results, hand wash in cool water with mild detergent.
- Separate Colors: Wash dark and light colors separately to prevent color transfer.
- Detergent: Use a mild detergent without bleach to maintain fabric integrity.
Drying:
- Air Dry: Hang or lay flat to dry in a shaded area. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent color fading.
- Tumble Dry: If using a dryer, select a low heat setting to avoid shrinkage and maintain softness.
- Avoid Overdrying: Remove from the dryer while still slightly damp to reduce wrinkles.
Ironing:
- Iron While Damp: For best results, iron your qamis while it's still slightly damp.
- Temperature Setting: Use a medium heat setting for cotton and linen fabrics.
- Steam Ironing: If available, use a steam iron to help remove wrinkles and achieve a smooth finish.
- Inside Out: Iron on the reverse side to protect the fabric’s texture and color.
Storage:
- Hang on a Padded Hanger: To maintain the shape, hang your qamis on a padded hanger.
- Avoid Folding: If folding is necessary, avoid placing heavy items on top to prevent creases.
- Keep Away from Moisture: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
